Human hair heads can be coloured, permed and heat styled like a client, so they suit colour and cutting practice. Synthetic heads are cheaper and fine for braiding, updos and lash work.

How long is the hair on a training head?

Most heads have 20 to 28 inch hair from the crown; check the listing, since the hair gets shorter as you practise cuts. Longer heads give more practice life.

Does a clamp come with the head?
