What do the numbers on a cartridge mean?

A code such as 1207RL means 12 gauge (0.35 mm), 7 needles, round liner. Gauge sets ink flow, the count sets the grouping size and the letters give the configuration.

Round liner, shader or magnum: when do I use each?

Round liners for outlines, round shaders for small fills and dot work, magnums and curved magnums for large shading and colour packing with soft edges.

Are the cartridges sterile?

Yes. Each cartridge is EO-gas sterilized and sealed in a blister pack with a lot number and expiry date. Discard any pack with a broken seal.
